Our Re-Brand Story

Posted on 13 Sep 2021

Jennifer started her own business as a step toward spending more time with her family, and create a more flexible schedule for herself and any team members that came on board. Thus, The Property Place started in 2011 as a 'one stop property shop', where all of your property related services were all in one place from the same lovely team.

Jennifers vision of work and family life balance clearly resonated with many, and the business expanded from Taranaki down to Horowhenua and up into the Waikato with offices, salespeople and property managers working under The Property Place umbrella.

During this time, Jennifer focused on the growth of the business and worked tirelessly. Jennifers daughter Rose stepped into an administrative role and began managing many aspects of The Property Place.
The business itself settled naturally to be centred within Taranaki and Whanganui respectively, which allowed more time for Jennifer to spend with her family, and gave her space to begin to analysing the journey of the business over the last 8 years.

When she stepped back and looked at what The Property Place had become, Jennifer decided to combat the endless workload by removing the rental aspect all together, and reducing her need to travel to Whanganui. Jennifer decided to make changes again by closing her New Plymouth office, and begin working from home in 2019 to coincide with the arrival of her first granddaughter.  This provided the perfect setting for Rose to sit her real estate license, and for Aspen to come on board as well.

Our main goal at present is to remain interested and enjoy being in business after 10 years of working as The Property Place. Part of that joy comes from the next generation bringing their ideas and goals to the business and the industry, a lot had changed in since Jennifer started her own business, and it was time to make changes to suit.

The story of The Property Place was Jennifer & her families story, however the sacrifices and successes weren't reflected in the brand - when discussing the boutique, family run business that we operate as we felt The Property Place didn't fit. This business is Jennifers legacy - so Jennifer Russell Real Estate was born.

Our ethos and manner of work has not changed. We promise specialized, bespoke and consistent service when buying and selling property, and we strive to be flexible and family friendly for our own work/life balance. Everyone chooses who they want to work with by how they perceive the brand, and our brand Jennifer Russell Real Estate now reflects exactly who we are, and the family legacy it represents.
